Cleaning in the house is not always associated with pleasant emotions - and completely in vain. Employees of the American research center of mental disorders have proved that in just twenty minutes of intensive cleaning in the house a person is able to prevent the development of stress and depressive state. And it does not matter whether the person loves this activity, or not: psychological satisfaction is achieved by the intensity of physical activity and psychological satisfaction from the resulting result - a cleanly cleaned apartment.

The study involved about five hundred Americans. Volunteers were cleaning in an apartment building for twenty minutes, after which they were asked to undergo special testing. The information obtained as a result of testing after harvesting was compared with the data that were taken from the participants before the study began.

What was discovered as a result of the experiment?

  • 60% of those who participated in the study significantly improved the state of the nervous system, and an assessment of their mental balance indicated a stable good state of health. The participants themselves noted that they felt a rush of energy, an increase in mood and moral satisfaction.
  • In 40% of the participants, the scientists did not find any significant differences in the mental state.

Nevertheless, experts concluded that physical stress combined with a positive result of labor expended in many cases leads to an improvement in the work of the human nervous system. This property can be actively used for the rehabilitation of people prone to depressive conditions and regular stresses.

The experiment on this was not stopped: the researchers asked participants to get rid of household items and things that they had not used for a long time. This situation put many volunteers at a dead end: they could hardly force themselves to throw things they had become accustomed to for many years. Some of the participants admitted that they even have some pathological dependence on such things - even old ones and completely useless ones.

In some people, psychologists have discovered a real phobia - up to obsession. They were unable to remove the unnecessary from their home.

Nevertheless, psychotherapists are convinced that the periodic cleaning of the house of everything superfluous and unused leads to a psychological unloading of the nervous system, while at the same time bringing order to the psyche. If you regularly get rid of old household items, you can clean up additional space in memory, eliminating associated with certain things memories and emotional associations.

Thus, energetic and intensive cleaning helps to calm down and stabilize the functional processes in the nervous system.

In the near future, psychotherapists predict a second study. It will be no longer Americans, but representatives of European countries and China.

Data on the study is provided by RIA Federal Press World news.
