American scientists, as well as scientists around the world, are seriously concerned about the new flu virus codenamed H3N8. So far, this virus is killing seals, but according to scientists, it may soon spread to humans.
There is real panic in the United States: the new H3N8 flu virus is killing seals. But everything would not be as scary and sad as the risk that this virus could soon become dangerous for people.
A new study conducted by American scientists has shown that the H3N8 flu, or as it is also called "dog flu," causes serious and virtually incurable pneumonia. At the moment, hundreds of seals are dying from it on the northeastern coast of the United States. There is practically no cure for this flu, and the fact that mammals suffer from it causes panic among scientists. They are seriously worried that people may soon become infected with this flu. And given how quickly it spreads through the air and how easily it can move from continent to continent "thanks" to tourism, scientists have something to be afraid of. Yes, in principle, and so do we.
The only hope is that the Americans will manage to develop a special vaccine against this flu and will be able to stop its large-scale spread throughout the world in time.
The whole difficulty of creating an effective vaccine against different types of dangerous flu is that this virus mutates very quickly and becomes more resistant to various antiviral drugs. In the case of such serious types of flu, you can’t rely only on your strong immune system. In addition, taking into account our ecology, it will be very difficult for us to fight the new virus.
