Scientific experts representing Harvard Medical College (United States) conducted several studies, based on which they concluded that meditation is indeed useful. It has a beneficial effect on the body's immune defense, stabilizes blood pressure, and improves mental activity. And another hidden positive property of meditation is the ability to prevent the development of stress, or reduce its severity and minimize the negative impact on the body. In turn, the likelihood of developing diseases caused by stress decreases. According to experts, they were faced with the task of determining the meaning of conscious meditation, assessing the concept of mindfulness and giving a full description of this process. As a result, scientists were able to identify several components of meditation. These are attention control, body awareness, emotional state management, and self-awareness. Experts explain: understanding the relationship between the components of the process and the relationship with brain functions will help learn how to use mindfulness in treatment regimens for patients with a wide variety of pathologies. Scientists plan to continue their research in order to begin using meditation for therapeutic purposes as early as possible. In turn, Professor Levin, a representative of the Baylor College of Medicine, said that meditation has a complex beneficial effect. The professor conducted a study on the effect of various medications, conscious and transcendental meditation, Zen and relaxation meditation on the body. Volunteers who took part in the experiment practiced meditation 1-2 times a day for twenty minutes. As a result, it was found that after such practices, the participants' stress levels significantly decreased, and attacks of anxiety and depression disappeared. Many improved the quality of sleep. If we take into account that frequent stressful situations, excessive anxiety, depression and insomnia can eventually cause cardiovascular diseases, then we can conclude that regular meditation can reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, as well as other heart pathologies. However, doctors warn: despite the positive effect of meditative practice, it should not replace medications if they are prescribed by a doctor. Life in the modern world is often accompanied by negative emotions and experiences: people are often sad, worry about trifles, they are dissatisfied with themselves and others. If a modern person experiences joyful feelings, then, as a rule, for a short period of time. Meditation helps a person not only to relax, but also to restore their worldview, improve their health and mood. Systematic practices allow you to resolve a lot of internal conflicts and contradictions, get rid of dissatisfaction and fears. Doctors advise: find time for meditation - perhaps this is exactly what will help you live long and without illness.
