The population of the Earth, which currently stands at just under 7 billion people, will increase to 10.1 billion by the end of the century. This is stated in a report prepared by UN specialists.

Experts predict that the world's population will exceed 7 billion people in October 2011. By 2023, the world will have 8 billion people, in 2041 - 9 billion, and by 2100 it will number 10.1 billion. According to experts, the greatest population growth will occur in regions with high birth rates - in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Oceania and Latin America. According to forecasts, the number of people on the African continent will triple - from 1 billion now to 3.6 billion by the end of the century.

As UN officials explain, these developing countries lack a national birth control policy, polygamy is widespread, women marry at an early age and are not informed about contraception. At the same time, population growth will be noticeable in developed countries as well. According to experts, the population of the USA, Denmark and Great Britain will increase. The average life expectancy in the world will also increase - from 68 years now to 81 years in 2100.
