Can obese people not have health problems? Of course, scientists say, if a person in good physical shape and feels great, then obesity is not such a big problem.
Among the full people there are many who are absolutely healthy. Excess weight is not proof that a person is suffering from diabetes, hypertension, cancer or cardiovascular disease. Slender people, though not having weight problems, are also at risk of developing all of the above diseases.
Spanish researchers at the University of Granada claim that the presence of extra pounds does not elevate a person to the status of an unhappy patient who has a thousand and one sores, on the contrary - sometimes such "pyshki" can give odds to any "thin man."
"The number of people suffering from obesity is steadily growing. All health care organizations try to fight this problem. However, excess weight is not always a cause for concern if a person is physically active, because the main thing is the state of health, not forms, "says the research director Dr. Francisco Ortega.
Between 1979 and 2003, scientists monitored 43,265 people who fall into the category of "full" and found that half of them are absolutely healthy people and are in perfect physical shape and in harmony with their kilograms. They are not at risk of developing obesity-related diseases and are not threatened by premature death. Experts call these people "metabolically healthy", despite the fact that they are complete, this does not affect their health in any way.
The risk of dying ahead of time in obese, but physically active, was 39% lower than in the same people, but in poor shape.
The results of this study are very important for practicing physicians who predict and prescribe treatment to full people, after all, it is necessary to take into account the metabolic rate and the level of physical fitness.
And another study by Swedish scientists found that in people with excess kilograms and heart disease, recovery and survival rates are much higher than in lean patients with similar problems. It was also found that patients with heart disease trying to lose weight, on the contrary - increased the risk of death.
Based on the research, experts say about the need to experience more for the physical form of obese people, rather than counting their extra pounds and calories eaten.
