Almost every person on the planet dreams of a long life. But, according to experts, the longer a person lives, the more difficult it is for him, since longevity has also negative sides. In one of the scientific British publications an article was published, whose authors scientifically explained why longevity can be a difficult test for a person.
A team of specialists in one of the research universities in the course of the work revealed the negative aspects of longevity, while in the conditions of the modern rhythm of life, such manifestations become more and more widespread. As shown by research scientists, most people have distorted ideas about longevity and do not understand well what problems they may have to face.
In particular, experts have established that the trend towards longevity that has been outlined in recent years is interrelated with the increase in the number of years during which a person suffers from various diseases. In their study, a team of specialists analyzed the data of people from different countries for 23 years (more than 150 countries took part in the study).
Scientists have calculated that in 1990 the population of our planet hurted more than 500 million years in the general account, and in 23 years this figure increased by 43% (more than 200 million years).
Most often, humanity suffers from depressive conditions and low back pain, followed by problems with teeth, headaches, low hemoglobin, hearing problems. All these diseases significantly affect the quality of human life and reduce the feeling of joy from long lived years.
Experts associate such a high percentage of sick people with the increase in the number of the population of our planet and the natural processes of aging. Earlier, infectious diseases posed a great danger for mankind, progress in medicine made it possible to reduce the level of diseases and deaths from various infections, but now people suffer mainly from diseases related to wrong lifestyle, harmful habits, obesity, and aging.
In recent years, science and medicine have made a big step forward, but because of an unhealthy lifestyle and not willing to maintain a good physical shape, people suffer in old age, experts believe. This is also indicated by the fact that since 1990, the number of people with diabetes mellitus has increased by almost 45%, but thanks to modern medicine, the death rate from this illness only increased by 9%.
But the low mortality rate is not a positive point, according to experts, since the life of a person with diabetes is associated with a variety of problems that significantly reduces the quality of life of a person, in addition, most diabetics suffer from obesity, which is also accompanied by certain problems with both health , and with the quality of life.
In concluding their work, experts noted that in order to improve the situation in the future, we should focus not on developing new methods of treatment, but on maintaining our own health, paying more attention to the physical form and healthy lifestyle.
