Wine is a light alcoholic drink that, in moderation, can strengthen the bones of older women, thereby reducing the risk of osteoporosis. This disease is common in older people and is dangerous for women.

A glass of light red wine or a glass of beer in a woman's daily diet helps prevent the development of diseases such as arthritis and osteoporosis. This is the conclusion reached by American scientists. Light alcoholic drinks can be an excellent stimulus for the restoration process of bone tissue, this was established by scientific director Urszula Iwaniec during the tests.

Light alcohol strengthens women's bones

As far as is known, women's bones weaken much more in old age than men's, especially after menopause. This problem is related to the fact that the production of estrogen, a female hormone responsible for the body's recovery processes (including bone tissue), is significantly reduced.

American researchers decided to conduct a test involving forty women. The ladies drank light alcoholic beverages in small quantities every day for two weeks. Then the women gave up drinking alcohol for the same amount of time. The analysis showed that during the period of time when they led a healthy lifestyle, the content of marker molecules that indicate the destruction of bone tissue increased many times. A day after drinking a glass of wine, the concentration of these harmful molecules decreased several times.

Osteoporosis affects mainly women over fifty years of age. Research conducted by scientists has shown that women who drink light alcoholic beverages in moderation every day can boast of strong bones. This cannot be said about women who do not drink alcohol at all. Therefore, it is safe to say that light alcohol in small doses helps to significantly reduce bone loss.
