Wine is a light alcoholic beverage, which in moderate amounts can strengthen the bones of women in adulthood, thereby reducing the risk of osteoporosis. This disease is typical for older people and is dangerous for women.
A glass of red light wine or a glass of beer in the daily diet of a woman helps prevent the development of diseases such as arthritis and osteoporosis. It was to this assertion that American scientists came. Light alcoholic beverages can be an excellent stimulus for the recovery process of bone tissue, this was established by the scientific supervisor Urszula Iwaniec during the tests.
As far as we know, the bones of women in old age weaken much more than men, especially after the onset of the menopause. This problem is related to the fact that the production of estrogen, the female hormone, is significantly reduced, which is responsible for the processes of recovery in the body (including bone tissues).
American researchers decided to conduct a test in which forty women took part. Ladies took light alcoholic beverages in small quantities daily for two weeks. Then the women refused to drink alcohol for the same amount of time. The taken analysis showed that at that time, when they led a healthy lifestyle, the content of marker molecules, which testify to the destruction of bone tissue, repeatedly increased. A day after receiving a glass of wine, the concentration of these harmful molecules decreased several times.
Osteoporosis affects women mostly over 50 years of age. Studies conducted by scientists have shown that those women who drink moderate amounts of alcoholic beverages on a daily basis can boast of bone strength. What can not be said about ladies who do not drink alcohol at all. Therefore, we can say with confidence that light alcohol in small doses contributes to a significant reduction in bone loss.
