The immune system is an army that defends the body from attacks by pathogenic bacteria. In order to protect the body from internal and external dangers, the immune system works clearly and harmoniously with the tissues, organs and cells of the entire body.
Web2Health has prepared some interesting facts about the work of our immune system.
Blood and lymph
The immune system is a complex system that is fed by five liters of blood and lymph, a clear, colorless fluid that travels throughout the body's tissues. Together, these two fluids transport the various elements of the immune system so that it can do its job efficiently and effectively. Our immune system is made up of skin, bone marrow, thymus, spleen, white blood cells, antibodies, hormones, and more.

White blood cells
Like knights in white armor, white blood cells engage in battle with enemy invaders who attack the body. They have powerful weapons in the form of antibodies that cope with the enemy perfectly. Brave white cells live only a few weeks. Their number in a drop of blood is 25,000. In case of a person suffering from leukemia, the number of white blood cells can increase to 50,000 in one drop of blood.
Fever and inflammation
While inflammation and fever are not the most pleasant symptoms, they are a sign that your body is doing its job well and is trying to drive pathogens out of your body, stopping them from trying to reproduce. If you don't get enough sleep, your immune system will be weakened, as will you, which will make you vulnerable to attacks from flu viruses.
Sun and immunity
Exposure to sunlight allows the body to naturally produce vitamin D. This helps prevent many problems such as depression, heart disease, and some cancers. Sunbathing is also good for people with autoimmune diseases. A fair-skinned person only needs 10 minutes of sun exposure to get the necessary vitamin D. Too much sun exposure can negatively affect health by weakening the immune system.
Stress weakens the immune system
Our immunity is capable of doing a lot for us, but sometimes it cannot eliminate the consequences of frequent stress that harm our body.
Laughter is the best medicine
Laughter is the best medicine, and there is some truth to that. The release of dopamine and other feel-good chemicals can help reduce stress. Twenty minutes of laughter a day can help keep your immune system in tip-top shape.
To stay healthy, you need microbes
Your gut is filled with tons of bacteria and other microorganisms that help you digest your food. But the microbes outside your body are generally considered gross and disgusting. Some are, but you need them to stay healthy.
