The city health care reform, which has begun in the capital and is envisaged in the draft Strategy for the Development of Kyiv until 2025, will increase the average life expectancy of a Kyiv resident by 7 years. In addition, each resident of our city will have their own doctor. This was stated by the chairman of the Association of Employees of Health Insurance Funds of Ukraine, a member of the public council under the Kyiv City State Administration Valentyn Pariy, UNN was informed by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration.

According to him, for the first time in 20 years, the capital's authorities have developed real political will for a comprehensive reform of medicine.

"In particular, on the initiative of the head of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov, the opening of family-type outpatient clinics continues. The City Program for the Training of Medical Personnel for Kyiv Healthcare Institutions for 2011-2017 has been introduced at the Bogomolets National Medical University. That is, Kyiv has taken a course to retain medical personnel within outpatient clinics and district areas. I think this will yield very positive results," said V. Pariy.

Let us recall that reforming the healthcare system is one of the priority areas of the city's development. According to the Chairman of the Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov, 40 family medicine outpatient clinics have already been opened in Kyiv and there will be about 100 of them by the end of the year. The development of primary care based on the principles of family medicine helps to improve the efficiency of medical institutions and enhances the role of disease prevention. This will not only improve the quality and availability of medical care, but also improve the working conditions of medical workers and their wages.
