Scientists from the Yale University in the United States, the American University of Denver and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem have found that happiness itself or the desire for it can lead to negative changes in the psyche and even a shortening of life.

In the course of the study, scientists confirmed that happiness is rather a negative factor for a person. So, in particular, the researchers found that people who in childhood were described as happy and carefree, live on average less than their more gloomy comrades.

During this experiment, scientists relied on data obtained about people whose childhood developed in the 1920s. It was found that those in whom the teacher celebrated the enthusiasm and gaiety, lived a shorter life compared with the students who did not show such total happiness.

Researchers believe that overcrowding with a sense of happiness is a problem. "The high degree of this feeling makes people stupefied - they become more careless and risk-averse, their happiness literally intoxicates, and at the risk, as it is known, there are also troubles that can affect the life expectancy of a person." <

Also, researchers emphasize that one should not get carried away with literature that teaches how to become happy. "Readers recruit information and begin the pursuit of happiness, in which, most likely, they will fail over and over again, making themselves feel worse than before reading these mentoring books," the scientists say.

American experts also note that often the feeling of happiness is simply inappropriate in our world. "Let's say your friends are in trouble, and you will not be happy with them, it will have to be suppressed, which means that a happy state can bring serious discomfort," the researchers say.

In addition, happiness sometimes means the ability to quickly forget the negative emotions that carry a negative experience. And if you forget it, then it is possible that a person will again be able to face the same problem that can lead to tragic consequences.

Researchers are sure: if a person is happy, then his ability to think creatively is reduced. In connection with all this, scientists advise: stop worrying about the fact that you should be happy, it will bring you true happiness, of course.
