A team of researchers from the United States, whose work is related to healthy eating and lifestyle, announced another useful property of red wine. As it turned out, this drink is useful for people who lead a "sedentary" lifestyle.

During the work of scientists it was discovered that resveratrol, which is a part of red wine, improves blood circulation, raises the tone of all organs and systems of the body. In addition, scientists have established that resveratrol helps prevent the development of vascular diseases.

Resveratrol is a natural phytoalexin that is secreted by some plants to protect against fungi or bacteria.

The team of scientists conducted all their studies on mice, but if you translate the results into human indicators, then just one glass of wine contains the required amount of resveratrol. Experts recommend that men drink about 300 ml of red wine, and women - half as much.

However, scientists advise people who have a predominantly sedentary lifestyle (for example, office workers) to, in addition to drinking red wine, still find time and energy for exercise.

Another team of scientists from Israel and the United States said that people with diabetes should drink red wine, as this drink has a beneficial effect on the heart and blood vessels. After studying the condition of patients with diabetes, experts found that cholesterol levels were within normal limits for those who drank alcoholic beverages in small doses, especially good indicators were recorded for lovers of red wine. In addition, this drink helps to absorb and process sugar, which is very important for people with diabetes.

Scientists have once again emphasized that the beneficial properties of red wine are only evident when a person does not abuse alcohol and does not drink more than the recommended dose, otherwise it can lead to health problems and early death.

Dentists do not share the opinion of scientists, who stated that drinking red wine causes dental problems, in particular, the development of caries. According to dentists, even a short-term effect of red wine on tooth enamel significantly worsens its condition.

Experts also note that red wine is contraindicated for women over 75. A group of scientists at the California Scientific Center found that drinking more than 200 ml of red wine provokes heart problems in women and can lead to premature death. During the work, the specialists studied the condition of more than 4 thousand women who were registered in cardiology clinics. As it turned out, beer and wine lovers who consumed these drinks in large doses (above the recommended dose) had pronounced heart problems. In such women, scientists discovered a decrease in cardiac activity and an increase in the wall of the left ventricle. Such pathology, according to cardiologists, can lead to an increase and thickening of the heart muscle or replacement with scar tissue, which can lead to undesirable consequences, including a high risk of premature death.
