A team of researchers from the United States, whose work is related to a healthy diet and lifestyle, said another useful property of red wine. As it turned out, this drink is useful for people who lead a "sedentary" lifestyle.
In the course of the work of scientists it was discovered that the resveratrol, part of the red wine, improves blood circulation, raises the tone of all organs and body systems. In addition, scientists have found that resveratrol helps prevent the development of vascular diseases.
Resveratrol is a natural phytoalexin that is secreted by some plants to protect against fungi or bacteria.
All the research team conducted the team in mice, but if you translate the results to human indicators, then only one glass of wine contains the required amount of resveratrol. Experts recommend that men drink about 300ml of red wine, and women - half as much.
However, people who have a predominantly "sedentary" way of life (for example, office workers), scientists advise in addition to consuming red wine, yet still find the time and energy for sports.
Another team of scientists from Israel and the United States said that red wine should be consumed for people with diabetes, since this drink has a beneficial effect on the heart and blood vessels. After studying the state of patients with diabetes, experts found that the level of cholesterol was within the norm for those who consumed alcoholic beverages in small doses, especially good results were recorded in the lovers of red wine. In addition, this drink helps to assimilate and process sugar, which is very important for people with diabetes.
The scientists once again stressed that the beneficial properties of red wine are manifested only when a person does not abuse alcohol and does not drink above the recommended dose, otherwise it can lead to health problems and early death.
Do not share the views of scientists, dentists, who said that the use of red wine causes problems with the teeth, in particular, the development of caries. According to dentists, even a short exposure to red wine on tooth enamel significantly worsens her condition.
Also, experts note that red wine is contraindicated for women after 75 years. At the California Science Center, a group of scientists found that consuming more than 200ml of red wine provokes heart problems in women and can lead to premature death. In the course of the work, the specialists studied the condition of more than 4 thousand women who were registered in cardiological clinics. As it turns out, beer and wine drinkers who consume these drinks in large doses (in excess of the recommended dose) had severe heart problems. In such women, scientists found a decrease in cardiac activity and an increase in the wall of the left ventricle. Such a pathology, according to cardiologists, can lead to enlargement and tightening of the heart muscle or replacement with scar tissue, which can lead to undesirable consequences, including a high risk of premature death.
