Researchers from the northern states of the USA have published a method that will make it possible to identify and separate cancer cells from the affected and healthy ones in the human body. Experts believe that such a discovery will be able to help during the treatment of malignant tumors at the level of metastases. Scientists who worked on the new method reported that the greatest danger associated with cancer is the proliferation of dangerous cells and their rapid spread throughout the human body, or, more simply, metastasis.

Metastasis is a rapid process of formation of new tumor growth sites as a result of their reproduction and spread from the primary site. The presence of numerous metastases makes malignant tumors so dangerous to health that a complete cure seems almost impossible. The latest research has made it possible to discover a method that can control the movement of cancer cells that are dangerous to the body.

Experts have developed a previously unknown material that can be a natural catalyst for burning cancer cells without negatively affecting healthy cells in the body. This is the key point in the study, since all previously known methods of fighting malignant tumors destroy cancer cells, but healthy cells can also die along with them.

The new cancer cell killing technique has been given the unofficial name of "cancer cell trap" because it can only attack "bad" cells. The technique has a clearly targeted effect and doctors believe that it can be used even in severe oncological diseases of such vital organs as the stomach, lungs or intestines.

At the university where the new method was studied, doctors admit that the approach can be considered not quite traditional at the moment, since its principles are somewhat different from, for example, chemotherapy, which is actively used in the fight against cancer. The newly invented method opens our eyes to a high-quality approach to the fight against malignant tumors and metastasis. Scientists agree that the idea requires careful analysis and possible refinement, but, nevertheless, it can be considered the first step towards the invention of a previously unused therapy aimed at cancer.

Previously, researchers from Stanford University tried to implement a similar method. Several doctors managed to discover a number of proteins that can help a person resist cancer. Proteins can also stop the proliferation of cancer cells, thereby slowing down the spread of a dangerous tumor in the body. This discovery is in development and has so far only been confirmed in experiments with field mice and other rodents. Experts believe that the human body should react to new proteins in a similar way, which will become an impetus for further research of the substance. Some scientists believe that proteins will be able not only to block the proliferation of cancer cells, but also to destroy existing cells.
