Swiss scientists drew attention to the following pattern: those women who prefer oral contraceptives choose less courageous partners for themselves than those who use other types of contraceptives or do not use them at all.
After the experts have drawn the above conclusions, it remains only to find out the reasons that can cause such preferences in women. Some scientists have speculated that women taking oral contraceptives, there is a subconscious desire to connect their life with a person reliable and stable. Previous studies have shown that it is these men at first sight that may seem effeminate, shy and soft. It seems strange that women who do not plan to acquire offspring (otherwise there is no need to take contraceptives) pay close attention to the reliability of the partner.
Many people mistakenly believe that strong hands, masculine facial features and a traced body relief should be liked by every woman. It turned out that not every woman wants to see a bright and even brutal man next to her. Studies have shown that women who regularly take oral contraceptives pay attention to men who can be described as effeminate. Scientists associate this pattern with the fact that men who do not have a bright and memorable appearance, are more calm and stable in their daily lives. Perhaps this is also due to the fact that recognized handsome men tend to constantly attract the attention of women, thereby confirming their status. At the same time, effeminate and simply lovely men can easily confine themselves to one woman and do not suffer from the absence of fans.
In order to test which men like women who take birth control pills, Swiss scientists have conducted a small experiment. A group of women from 18 to 35 years old was selected, among whom were both admirers of oral contraceptives, as well as those who did not protect themselves, or used condoms.
The experiment consisted that women were shown images of young people of different types of appearance and asked to assess their attractiveness. Initially, the participants evaluated the appearance of men in terms of general attractiveness and the possibility of short-term or long-term relationships. It turned out that those women who took hormonal contraceptives chose men with less masculine features (thin lips and nose, narrow jaw). Experts suggest that the use of hormonal drugs can affect the perception and sympathy that arises in relation to other people. Previous studies conducted by scientists from the United States showed that women most often choose more courageous and rough men during the fertile phase of the menstrual cycle.
In any case, such experiments only fueled the interest of scientists in hormonal preparations. In their opinion, if birth control pills can influence the taste preferences of women, they should be taken seriously to study their components.
