Contraceptive drugs can dramatically change long-term relationships between partners, according to researchers at the University of Stirling of the UK, conducting a study in which about 2000 women aged 35-37 years from America, England and the Czech Republic participated.

Scientists compared two categories of women: those who take contraceptives, and those who do not take. It turned out that women from the first group are sexually dissatisfied compared with the second group of women, however, he is happier in those areas that do not concern sexual relations.

Researchers noted that tying up the relationship at a time when the woman was taking contraceptive medications brought more emotional happiness to the couple, and the relationship lasted, on average, 2 years longer, compared to couples where the woman did not take contraceptives. However, in these cases, the gap in the relationship was initiated most often by the woman herself, because sexual dissatisfaction outweighed all other emotional benefits, forcing the woman to choose another partner.

Taking the pill, the woman is in a state of "constant pregnancy", so she is looking for a genetically similar partner, unlike women who do not use hormonal contraception, who seek to find a sexual partner not similar in genetic parameters to the establishment of genetically stable and healthy offspring.

Scientists emphasize that the results of this study show only certain statistical trends, and should not be interpreted as a guide to action, since the relationship between a woman and a man is a much more complicated process.
