For coffee lovers there is good news. In addition to the fact that this fragrant drink helps people to cheer up, it also almost halves the risk of developing oral cancer. Because a cup of coffee in the morning you can drink not only for a final awakening, but also as a preventive tool to reduce the threat of dangerous oncological diseases.

These data were presented by scientists from the American Association of Oncologists.

Experts say that the daily use of the drink has a powerful protective effect against malignant tumors in the mouth and throat.

It turned out that people who drink at least four cups of drink every day, the risk of developing oral or pharyngeal cancer is reduced by half compared to those who drink coffee rarely, from time to time or do not use it at all. Scientists report that decaffeinated coffee can also reduce the risk of developing tumors, but its effect is inferior to that of coffee with caffeine, while tea has no such effect at all.

Previous research of scientists aimed at studying the beneficial effects of coffee on the human body has already proved the relationship between the use of this drink and the reduction in the risks of oral and pharyngeal cancer. In the new study, which began in 1982, 968 thousand Americans took part. During the whole period, the experts had an objective to find out how well the data obtained in previous studies were justified and what the results would be in the framework of the large-scale project.

At the beginning of the study, all volunteers were examined for oncological diseases. None of the participants showed any signs of the presence or development of oral and pharyngeal cancer. Odako for all the time of observation, of these types of cancer, 868 people died.

Participants constantly informed experts about what their diet consists of and, in particular, how many cups of coffee they consume daily.

Comparing the eating habits of those people who have died from oral and pharyngeal cancer and those who have not shown any signs of the disease during the whole period, suggests that eating natural coffee in at least four cups a day reduces the risk of developing these forms of cancers.

Those who drank coffee every day and not limited to three cups, experts found a 49% reduction in risks.

Decaffeinated coffee also gave some protection, but not as effective as regular coffee. And tea lovers, unfortunately, nothing to please, because their favorite drink does not provide protection from any of the mentioned types of cancer.

"The results obtained are of no small importance, because the use of coffee can be used as a preventive agent for such dangerous diseases as oral and pharyngeal cancer. By the way, these types of cancer are among the ten most dangerous and widespread forms of cancer. Considering that coffee is one of the most popular drinks in the world, its consumption can help to minimize this danger, "the researchers summarize.
