A group of architects from Slovakia have unveiled their latest invention – an eco-friendly home that is fully habitable and can operate independently of the central energy grid. In addition, the developers have equipped the small “shelter” with sustainable technologies, including the use of solar and wind energy, and the collection and purification of rainwater.
The developers assume that the prototype of the eco-capsule will appear in the very near future, and the model will go into mass production this year.
The architects from Nice Architects explained that they wanted to create an eco-friendly home that would combine small dimensions, energy-efficient form, and autonomous operation capabilities. At the same time, the house should have a large comfortable bed, drinking water, and hot food.
According to the design team, the small house has everything necessary to live comfortably in it, far from both civilization and an external energy source.
The house is shaped like an egg and has dimensions of 4.4 x 2.4 x 2.4 m. The living floor area is 8 m 2.
The dwelling can be attached to a car to move it to the desired location, for example, when traveling to nature or on vacation. Also, according to the developers, the capsule can be used as an office, a guest house, an additional room, or as an access point for recharging an electric car.
The interior of the small eco-house includes a toilet, a shower stall, a work area, a dining table, a folding bed and storage space for personal belongings (internal and external). The house has only one door and two windows, which can be opened if desired, for example, to air the room.
According to the architects, the house will be equipped with an amazing set of sustainable technologies. The roof of the house is covered with an array of solar panels, the area of which is more than 2 square meters, an integrated battery system is installed inside, and a silent wind turbine with a capacity of 750 watts is installed on a special retractable rod. The bathroom has a compost toilet, a shower cabin. The house also has a system for collecting rainwater, and special filters provide a supply of clean drinking water.
The company is currently refraining from commenting and not saying how the development will work. The specialists noted that everything will become clear a little later, but the advantages of their "brainchild" were the ability to stay away from the power grid for a long time, access to civilization in the middle of a desert area, low energy consumption, and easy transportation to any point on the planet. In addition, according to the architects, the compact house is a source of sustainable energy and does not require any additional maintenance.
However, almost any invention requires additional service, for example, tanks that collect waste should be cleaned, gas cylinders needed for cooking need to be regularly filled, etc.
It is not easy to maintain such an ecological home, but the idea itself looks quite promising.
