Earlier this week, environmentalists from Mexico City announced an alarm because of an unexpectedly elevated level of solar radiation. The radiation levels in the Mexican capital and its environs, which are recorded weekly, have grown significantly. At the moment, representatives of the National Atmospheric Monitoring System are in the process of clarifying the circumstances that could affect the increased radiation.

Local residents are warned that additional measures should be taken to protect them from the rays of solar radiation and to shorten their stay in the open sun.

В the capital of Mexico has significantly increased the level of solar radiation

By "solar radiation" environmentalists mean all the fluxes of electromagnetic oscillations emitted by the bright sun. The intensity of solar radiation depends directly on the height of the sun, and on the angle of incidence of the sun's rays. Also, the intensity of radiation can be affected by the state of the atmosphere and the degree of air pollution.

In addition to a significant increase in the level of solar radiation, Mexican environmentalists also reported a high degree of air pollution. Experts say that a few months ago the air was not so dirty. Pollution of the environment can also affect the level of solar radiation, it was previously noted that in rural areas where the level of atmospheric air pollution is much lower, the level of solar radiation also decreases compared to urban areas.

Representatives of the National Atmospheric Monitoring System warned local residents that in the next few weeks it is not recommended to spend a lot of free time on the street without the need. Residents of Mexico City and the surrounding area experts recommend every day before leaving the house to apply to the open areas of the case sunscreen, do not forget headgear or light umbrellas. Not too complicated methods of precaution will help to protect the local population from the negative impact of too dangerous sun rays - say ecologists.

Medics Mexico City for their part also warned the local population that, despite the friendly spring sun, it is necessary to refrain from a long stay outside the premises under direct exposure to sunlight. At the moment, being in the open can be dangerous - representatives of the health authorities believe. There was a report that exposure to sunlight could trigger an oncological disease such as skin cancer or cause significant damage to a person's vision. Open sunlight causes a strong change in the composition of human skin, which can lead to the formation of tumors. As for the impact on vision, the solar radiation can contribute to the development of allergic conjunctivitis and can damage the cornea of the eye and even the lens during direct exposure to the human eye.

Mexican scientists say that changes in the level of radiation have been seen before, but so significant a difference is recorded for the first time. Earlier, representatives of the National Atmospheric Monitoring System did not issue a warning to the population, since the problem did not seem to be significant, with a statement on this subject, scientists made their first appearance.
