In Denmark, experts conducted a study that showed that alcoholic drinks in moderate doses can not only be safe for women in the situation, but also contribute to the development of the embryo, in the future helping the child to adapt more easily to life situations.
As it turned out, children who were born by mothers who consumed alcoholic beverages in small quantities could have much easier to adapt to the situation. Such conclusions after numerous long-term studies were made by specialists from the University of Copenhagen. In their experiment, which lasted for seven years (from 1996 to 2002), experts conducted a survey of about one hundred thousand women who were in a position in which they found out the relationship of each of them to alcohol. Seven years later, experts interviewed the grown-up children of the women who participated in the survey. As it turned out, the children of mothers who, when they were in a position to drink a couple glasses of wine a week, had a more adult appearance, it was easier to make new acquaintances, unlike children whose mothers did not drink during the entire pregnancy. Keith Broholholm, one of the experts who conducted the study, commented on the project, noting that it is necessary to understand when alcohol is harmful to the body, and when it contributes to the proper development of the body. It is necessary to distinguish the harm of alcohol for the embryo and its positive effect (in moderate amounts), for example, for the prevention of heart failure.
According to the studies, the cause of successful development of children is not only alcohol, but also a number of other factors. Occasionally women who drink in a position have better health, go in for sports, do not smoke, spend little time at the TV and did not have excess weight before giving birth. In fact, the results of the study reflected all the factors that could affect the future development of the child, in particular alcohol. This study, according to experts, is not an allegation that alcohol is useful to pregnant women, on the contrary, caution is recommended, especially in this situation.
Earlier studies of specialists from the United States have shown that the use of alcohol in small doses prolongs life. To such conclusions, scientists came after a long observation of the health of more than a thousand people, whose age by the beginning of the experiment was 55 to 65 years. Among people there were also strongly drinking, and using occasionally, and at all not drinking alcohol. During the experiment (20 years), 60% of over-drinking and 69% of people leading a sober lifestyle died. Among people who drank moderately, the death rate was at 41%.
As experts suggest, alcohol in moderate quantities can prolong life. Under moderate amounts, specialists mean two servings of alcohol per day (one serving of approximately 300 ml of beer or one glass of a high strength drink). Abuse of alcoholic beverages leads to an increase in mortality by 42%, a total refusal of alcoholic beverages by 49%.
