The Asian region actively exports fish that contain unsafe levels of antibiotics
The Asian region is actively exporting fish containing unsafe levels of antibiotics, says a study by the Australian Ministry of Agriculture.
According to experts, such an influx of harmful products is celebrated this year. The "black list" has already managed to get five batches of fish from Vietnam. They could not pass a biosafety test because of the high concentration of enrofloxacin. For comparison: three batches of the same fish, which caused doubts of specialists, were revealed for the whole last year.
Antibiotic enrofloxacin is considered very effective in combating gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms resistant to other antibiotics. In addition to fish, this tool is also used for cattle.
In general, since 2010, in Australia, more than 1,000 imported products have not been tested. In the first place is the goods from China. Then came the products from India, Italy, Japan, Korea and France. In addition to antibiotics, they found listeria and cholera vibrios.
