Experts from the American University of California at Berkeley have come to the conclusion that the gold standard of a happy family life is the similarity of partners in character traits, as well as common interests.
Thus, scientists have disproved the myth that opposites attract each other.
American experts believe that men and women are looking for a life partner in a person who is as much in demand by the opposite sex as they are. When choosing a partner, a person also takes into account the socio-economic status of the future partner.
The experiment examined messages sent by 3,000 users of one dating site. As the analysis of messages showed, more popular people most often communicated with Internet users who also had a high popularity rating. Conversely, not very popular people looked for a potential partner among users whose profiles were not very popular.
Scientists claim that the strongest and happiest families can be created only if a man and a woman have similar character traits, share the same interests and occupy equal positions in society.
