As a result of conducted surveys and studies in the US, 18% of cases of liver disorders that were officially recorded during 8 years from 2003 to 2011 were directly related to BAA supplements.

According to Victor Navarro, a famous professor from the University of Thomas Jefferson, 93 cases of liver damage were investigated . As a consequence, it was found that additives for weight loss and muscle building led to a violation of liver integrity in 26% and 34% of all episodes of complications, respectively.

For example, dietary supplements for athletes led to the development of jaundice, but only for men. In some cases, jaundice continued for a month or more. More than 29% of men who took such drugs, during the time of these studies were in hospital.

Supplements, which are designed to reduce weight, were even more dangerous. In the process of taking such drugs in the vast majority of cases, inflammation of the liver developed, which threatened some even with a fatal outcome. In such cases, the only way out is to transplant the organ. As a result, 12% of the surveyed 17 people who took appropriate funds for weight loss, were on the waiting list for liver transplantation.

In the "black list" of various supplements, tablets were also introduced, which increase overall immunity, as well as drugs for colds and coughs, anxiety and depression. They caused 10-14% complications.
