Scientists said that hugging is beneficial to health, both for the mental and for the physical.
Specialists conducted an experiment in which people with a disease took part and found that embraces had a positive effect on the health and general well-being of a person, and also helped to increase the opinion about one's own person and abilities. Based on the findings, experts recommend each day to hug their loved ones, relatives, friends and even acquaintances.
As research has shown, during embraces in the human body, special substances begin to be released, which contribute to recovery. In addition, these substances helped people in making important decisions and increasing the level of trust in others. According to experts, a person feels more confidence in who embraces him, so is embedded in his psychological nature. It is this that activates the production of special substances in the body, such as oxytocin and adrenaline, thanks to which a person becomes kinder, more responsive and an optimistic mood appears.
To confirm their theory about the impact of embraces on health experts conducted an experiment in one of the hospitals, where the patients were divided into two groups. The first group of volunteers had to hug themselves daily with relatives or close people, and patients from the second group were forbidden such a manifestation of feelings. After a while, the specialists were extremely surprised by the results: the patients from the first group improved faster, in contrast to the participants in the second group.
As a result, scientists concluded that embraces, undoubtedly, are beneficial for a person and improve his mental and physical state.
Embrace is a special form of physical intimacy. The manifestation of the senses thus consists in embracing and attracting the other person to himself. As a rule, embraces express strong love, recognition, friendship, sympathy, etc. It should be noted that this form of physical affinity is considered one of the important forms of non-verbal communication.
The fact that embraces are useful for health scientists started talking a few months ago. A team of specialists from the United States has proven that embraces can replace hardening and other methods of strengthening immunity. As research has shown, people who often hug with their loved ones are less likely to get sick. The warmth of another person during a hug stimulates the work of the immune system, improves mood and overall well-being.
For research, scientists selected 400 volunteers who liked to cuddle with other people. Scientists tried to infect all participants with catarrhal diseases, however, all attempts were futile. People who liked to cuddle and who did this at least several times a day, practically did not suffer from a cold, or tolerated it in mild form. It was also found that regular embraces help to lower the level of the stress hormone in the body, which is beneficial to the modern person, given the current rhythm of life.
