In one recent study, experts have studied the benefits of pistachios to the human body and, as it turns out, they help to reduce the level of sugar and insulin, in addition, the use of pistachios helps reverse some of the processes that develop in the pre-diabetic state.
As a result of the research, the scientists found that such use of pistachios is due to the included proteins, fiber, fats.
The experiment was conducted in 2011 - 2013 and more than 50 people took part in it, which scientists divided into two groups. In one volunteer they had to eat about 60g of pistachios a day, in another, scientists first planted the participants on a diet, and added to the pistachio diet.
In terms of fat, fiber, fatty saturated acids, the diet of all participants (both in the first and second group) did not differ.
As a result, after consuming pistachios, scientists noted in volunteers a decrease in the level of sugar, insulin, in addition, pistachios helped reduce inflammation and maintain weight in the norm (because they do not have a lot of calories).
Pistachios contain a large amount of hama-tocopherol, lutein, phytosterols and other biologically active compounds.
Maintaining normal blood sugar is extremely important, since if one believes in a recent study, high sugar levels can trigger cancer.
The specialists analyzed 16 studies, and also studied the data of 900 thousand people living in different countries. As a result, they concluded that the likelihood of cancer development is greater by 15% in the pre-diabetic state, i.е. At a state where the sugar level is at the borderline (the level is quite high, but has not yet reached the minimum value at which diabetes is diagnosed).
After the specialists took into account the body mass index and other factors, it turned out that with pre-diabetes the probability of cancer development increases by 22%. Most often, a high level of sugar provoked the development of cancer of the stomach, liver, intestines, pancreas, breast, endometrium.
Specialists noted that people with a high level of sugar are twice as likely to get liver cancer, 20% - breast cancer, 50% - cancer of the intestine or stomach, 60% more often endometrial cancer.
Experts suggest that there are several causes of this pathology. For example, a high level of sugar increases the resistance to insulin, which leads to the active production of insulin-like proteins, which contribute to the development of cancer cells. In addition, scientists do not rule out the possibility of genetic variations that can increase the likelihood of development, both diabetes and cancer.
Without adequate treatment of the pre-diabetic condition, on average five years later, a full-blown diabetes develops. As statistics show, recently prediabetes is diagnosed more often.
Experts in the quality of prevention recommend taking drugs to reduce sugar levels, lead an active lifestyle, eat right.
