The research team from California found that eating meat and cheese causes severe harm to the body, which can be compared with smoking. Especially such products are dangerous for middle-aged people, as scientists believe that animal protein four times increases the risk of premature death.

Excessive consumption of protein foods leads to premature death

As a result of the study, scientists concluded that a diet high in animal protein is almost the same health threat as nicotine. The research group analyzed about seven thousand people, at the age of fifty, all of them took part in the examination of national health and nutrition. As a result of the analysis, scientists found that people who consume large amounts of protein (20% of the daily caloric intake) have a fourfold increase in the likelihood of developing diabetes and cancer. In general, scientists noted that mortality in this case is doubled.

Also, scientists have determined that plant proteins do not cause the organism less harm than animals. According to experts, protein when consumed affects the production of growth hormone, which supports the maintenance of metabolism in an adult, but in addition, the protein promotes the growth of cancer cells.

After 65 years, the body lacks protein, so the use of protein foods at this age is necessary to maintain health.

Another study in this area was conducted by a group of Australian scientists led by Stephen Simpson. Specialists several hundred rodents were kept on 25 different diets and as a result found that the diet is rich in proteins and with a low amount of carbohydrates leads to a worsening of appetite and the deposition of subcutaneous fat, while scientists noted the development of the disease of the endocrine, cardiovascular system and a shorter life span. The greatest harm to health is a diet high in fat, a diet rich in carbohydrates contributes to life expectancy, but such a diet does not contribute to weight loss. Experts recommend eating protein food not more than 10% of the daily dose of calories.

Experts point out that people who choose to adhere to dietary habits and restrict the use of certain foods may face a number of psychological problems. Sharp restriction in food can provoke a kind of protection of the body, which as a result will "require" more food and as a result there may be a breakdown. The reason for losing control over compliance with the diet can also be caused by low motivation.

A person who decides to adhere to a diet deliberately adjusts the body to a restriction, which can as a result lead to negative consequences (stress, nervous disorders). The human body during the diet is stressed during the period of getting used to the new diet and the restrictions of some products, and this can cause severe nervous disorders.
