Experts continue to study how alcohol affects the human body. A new study was conducted at the Royal Hospital in London, during which a group of volunteers for a month refused to drink alcohol. During this period, the participants in the experiment underwent major changes, which allowed scientists to assume that the refusal to drink alcohol significantly affects the life and health of a person.
As it turned out after the expiration of the experiment, the health of the subjects became much better, in particular, the level of cholesterol was normalized, the working capacity of the liver improved, and after five weeks the "sober" life was restored and began to work in normal mode.
This experiment proved that refusal for a month from alcohol will lower the level of fat in the liver, sugar in the blood, bad cholesterol, and lose weight on average by 1.5 kg. The participants of the experiment noted that their general well-being became much better, the working capacity increased, the sleep normalized. Scientists at this stage can not say how many "non-alcoholic" months are required for complete restoration of the organism and fixing the effect for a long time. Earlier studies of drug addicts found that the harm caused to the body by alcohol is due not so much to the quantity drunk as to the uneven use.
As doctors say, excessive consumption of alcohol is a dangerous factor that has a destructive effect on the entire human body. The maximum harm alcohol in large doses causes the cardiovascular system and the liver, which does not withstand such a load. The most severe consequences, resulting in regular and frequent use of alcohol - is cirrhosis of the liver, as well as significant fat changes occurring in it. But alcohol in moderate doses improves brain activity, reduces the risk of developing diseases of the cardiovascular system, rheumatoid arthritis.
The infrequent use of red wine in small doses helps prevent the development of caries, Alzheimer's disease, and avoid obesity. Men who drink half a glass of wine every day live on average five years longer than those who do not drink at all, while scientists have established that wine lovers live about 2 years longer than beer lovers. Also, red wine prevents the development of lung cancer in smokers, and also reduces the risk of intestinal tumor formation.
But not only red wine helps to reduce the development of certain diseases, light beer also has a positive effect on the body, protecting it from radiation, strengthening the bones, preventing the development of osteoporosis. But the use of alcohol also has a negative side, as frequent use of alcohol (in any form) contributes to the development of cancer. Physicians found that people who daily drink a large glass of wine or 0.5 liters of beer, the risk of developing a malignant intestinal tumor is increased by 10%. And the fans drink several times a week, the risk of education oncology of the esophagus is increased by 83%, in comparison with teetotalers or occasionally drinking people. In addition, frequent and excessive consumption of alcohol significantly impairs memory, even in people at a young age.
