The environmental situation has significantly deteriorated on our planet for the last sixty years. The chemical, bacteriological and, for the most part, nuclear testing of weapons plays a major role in this. An enormous impact on the environment not only in European countries, but also around the world, the accident that occurred in 1986 in Chernobyl. To a greater extent, the environment has suffered in such countries as Ukraine, Belarus, some part of Russia. The number of hazardous substances released into the atmosphere during the Chernobyl nuclear power plant explosion is 500 million curies, which is 500 times more than was released into the atmosphere in Hiroshima during the explosion.

The Chernobyl accident caused the death of more than 120 thousand people who received direct or indirect radiation.

The proven fact is that 80% of all diseases in oncology represent an ecological cancer. Particularly serious consequences of the Chernobyl accident will appear in the 3rd - 4th generation and at the moment scientists believe that the Ukrainians expect an epidemic of cancer.

But not only Chernobyl affected the ecological situation in the country, the burial of radioactive wastes, and a considerable number of functioning nuclear power plants contributed to their contribution. Emergency leakage and a variety of discharges from nuclear facilities that are considered normal result not only in our country, but also in the whole world, of congenital pathologies, frequent deaths in infancy, retardation, premature birth, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, allergic reactions, diabetes, malignant formations, etc.

In Ukraine, 290 underground sources are polluted, 70% of samples taken from reservoirs located on the surface of the earth showed a significant inconsistency with accepted standards, and significant. In more than a thousand cities and villages in Ukraine, you can not use local water for drinking and cooking. And, the water from the wells, located near the big cities is completely useless.

As a result, in Ukraine in water bodies 70% of water is not suitable for drinking and cooking. In western Ukraine the purest water, and the most polluted in the east, the south, partly in the center of the country. All this is connected with the industrial concentration of objects in the southeast, contaminated by the Dnieper, into which a huge mass of waste and harmful substances is discharged. The main cause of pollution of reservoirs on the surface of the earth is the discharge by industrial enterprises of untreated waste. In Ukraine, on average, there are up to 35% of all discharges that fall directly into water bodies. Nikolaev Oblast is the leader in wastewater discharges to untreated sewage, 100% of polluted water is discharged by enterprises, Dnipropetrovsk oblast is 65%, Donetsk is the second, 55% of all waste is discharged.

At present, people face a burning issue of problems concerning the ecology of not only a certain country, but the whole planet, and these issues require immediate action. Among them, atmospheric emissions from industrial facilities, acid precipitation, warming, which leads to an increase in the level of the world's oceans, ozone holes, the loss of whole ecosystems, deforestation, can result in a decrease in biological diversity in the world.

The main tasks that should be addressed by mankind now is to adjust the development of culture, economy, and politics. We must draw conclusions from the mistakes made during the course of development and direct all our forces, in order to preserve our Earth from a slow but inevitable death.
