The problem of insomnia in our time excites a large number of people. Researchers from Germany found that the effect, similar to the action of warm milk with floral honey, can be provided by a combination of products such as natural yogurt and black or milk chocolate. Even individually, these products somewhat soothe the body, and in combination with each other can be considered almost a full-fledged tool against insomnia.
The combination of natural yoghurt and chocolate has a calming effect on the human nervous system, which contributes to a sound and healthy sleep. This action is due to the fact that with the simultaneous use of these products, the body produces a substance such as tryptophan. Tryptophan is an important component of dietary protein, which is abundant in natural yoghurt and other dairy products. Getting into the body and oxidizing, tryptophan causes the formation of serotonin, which is unofficially considered a hormone of happiness. Serotonin causes complete relaxation of the body, exerts an effect on the mood, not exciting a person, but providing a calming and soothing effect. Accordingly, serotonin affects the strong and healthy sleep and fast falling asleep.
The downside is that the effect of chocolate with yogurt lasts only 15-20 minutes, but on the other hand, in order to fall asleep, you will not need it any more. A short-term soothing effect will be a plus for those who are used to eating yoghurts and chocolate in the daytime. An alternative solution is yoghurt with chocolate flakes, which can replace a full dinner.
Tryptophan, which promotes the formation of the "happiness hormone", is found not only in dairy products, but in any food that contains animal protein. Therefore, if you have problems with the nervous system, if it's hard for you to calm down at the end of the day, then the best solution will be some change in the diet: try to eat lean meat and white fish, nuts, mushrooms and dried bananas. For the speedy "delivery" of serotonin to the brain, the body needs a small amount of sugar, which is contained in chocolate or honey. That is why the combination of dairy products and sweets, like chocolate and honey, causes a calming effect for the body.
