Sleep deprivation is a problem of modern times, which often affects busy people, students and even schoolchildren.

Dr. Reut Gruber, head of the Sleep and Behavioral Research Laboratory at the Research Center in Quebec, Canada, decided to investigate the effect of sleep duration on the behavior and level of learning ability of children. Especially scientists were interested in children of primary school age.

Participation in the experiment was attended by 34 schoolchildren between the ages of seven and eleven. The children were absolutely healthy and had no problems with behavior or sleep.

The experiment lasted a week. During the experiment, some children went to bed earlier than usual, and others later. During classes at school, teachers did not know who and what length of sleep they receive. They noted the successes of children, as well as their behavior in the classroom.

As a result, it turned out that those children who slept less were more impulsive, irritable and tired more, it was hard for them to concentrate on the task. But the schoolchildren who slept more, on the contrary, showed a good result, both in training and in behavior - they were more concentrated and could better manage their emotions.

To ensure that the student does not have problems with teaching and the granite of science was to his teeth, parents should properly organize the regime of the child's day.

How correctly to organize a mode of day for the schoolboy?

Optimum sleep time for children aged 7-15 years - 9-10 hours. Their mode of the day should not consist only of studying - first at school, and then doing homework at home. Work and rest must alternate. Also an integral part of the normal regime is the observance of the time of going to bed and the morning ascent. The child should be in the open air as much as possible. It is possible to single out the following main factors that affect the working capacity during the day, and also guarantee the healthy, active life of the student:

  • Mental activity, alternating with active rest.
  • Maximum stay in the open air
  • Regular nutrition, which provides the body with the necessary amount of vitamins and trace elements
  • Complete sleep
  • Individual activity of the child to choose from

Morning we start with charging

Morning exercise will help to shake off sleep and finally cheer up. The charging time is from 1 to 30 minutes.

Breakfast

A schoolboy must necessarily have breakfast, because morning meals are very important for the health and mental abilities of the child. A saturated training program requires considerable energy expenditure, because the diet of schoolchildren should correspond to how much it is laid out throughout the day.

Refreshed, the child must rest, but do it not in front of the TV or a book in hand, it's best to spend an hour and a half actively outdoors.

Classes at home

The optimal time for solving tasks assigned to the home is from 16 to 18 hours - which corresponds to the physiological rhythm of the best assimilation of information. Cooking lessons are better in silence, so that nothing hinders the concentration and additionally burdens the brain.

Free time

For employment by interests it is possible to allocate one and a half-two hours. Unfortunately, the day is not rubbery and it is impossible to accommodate training and ample time for entertainment.

Sleep

To the child quickly fall asleep and the awakening was easy and pleasant, it is important to adhere to the regime - to go to bed and get up at the same time.
