According to a new study conducted recently by a group of American scientists, every third woman, aged 20, experiences the so-called "quarter of life" crisis.
This state is understood as a "toxic cocktail" of financial problems, fear of unemployment, economic crisis, lack of permanent romantic relationships, the need for an early marriage and a number of other reasons. According to experts from a large investment company Skandia, this crisis is now a record in the civilized world precisely because of the recent global financial crisis, and the continuing uncertainty in the financial markets to this day. They maintain high unemployment and competition in the labor market.
The crisis of a quarter of life usually occurs with the appearance of stable work, or when a woman marries, but in rare cases it can last up to 30 years and even longer. It is interesting that young women with higher education are 2-3 times more likely to experience this condition than less educated women. The crisis of a quarter of life, by the way, is, quite, a clinical condition, the same as, for example, depression.
The symptoms of this disorder include regular nightmares, nervousness and loss of appetite. According to scientists, this crisis is mainly for that period in the life of a woman, when her ambitions are commensurate with her abilities and a certain balance is reached between them. Men on average are 3 times less vulnerable to the crisis of a quarter of their lives, mainly because they do not need to get married and have children sooner.
They also tend to have a much better idea of their career path in life, at the end of higher education they already have clearer plans for their future job and are less likely to worry about such things.
