In the northern part of the State of Israel, secretive plantations of a completely unique in their properties hemp spread out. From its ordinary varieties is distinguished by the fact that it is incapable of causing a narcotic effect. But in this plant, its positive effect from a medical point of view is preserved.
According to the head of the development department of the company Tikun Olam Zack Klein - in a modified plant (in hemp) contains about 60 or more cannabinoids. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is best known because it has high psychoactive properties.
But, in particular, cannabidiol contained in cannabis can boast of the fact that it also possesses properties aimed at combating inflammations of a different nature. It does not join the receptors of the brain, unlike THC. It was to cannabidiol that Israeli scientists decided to make a "bet." The result of almost three years of work was hemp, which contains 15.8 percent of cannabidiol, and the concentration of THC (less than 1 percent) is insignificant.
This variation of the plant can be safely applied for the treatment of diseases caused by cancer, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Crohn's disease, stress post-traumatic disorder. So far only marijuana has been tested only in animals. Experts are full of hope to begin clinical trials in the coming months.
