Children of lesbian couples do not suffer from the absence of their father in the house as a role model of a man. To this conclusion came the researchers from Amsterdam and California.
Critics of same-sex families, as the main argument against the theory put forward that for a full-fledged mental development a child needs to see role models of a man and a woman. This role should be played by the father and mother. Allegedly, without such models, children experience more emotional problems in adulthood.
But a study called the US National Longitudinal Lesbian Family Study, conducted by experts from the University of Texas and the University of Amsterdam, showed that this statement is not true. Lesbians are able to surround children with full care and attention, so that the absence of a pope in the house will not affect their mental development in any way.
Scientists interviewed 78 adolescents raised in lesbian families to get a picture of their psychological and gender development. This is the only study of this kind that monitors children from same-sex families from birth. It turned out that the presence or absence in the house of the pope as a male role model in any way affects the mental health of the child.
So the two children of the star "Silence of the Lambs" actress Jodie Foster, the absence of the pope does not hurt. Jody brings up the sons of Charles and Christopher. For 15 years, the actress lived in a happy union with the beloved woman producer Cindy Bernard (pictured with children), so even Jodi's sons wear the double surname Foster-Bernard. True, not so long ago, the women parted, and Foster went to 51-year-old Cindy Mort.
