Foods rich in fiber are very useful for the human body. The thing is that they contain vegetable fibers, which shorten the time of food in the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, they purify the body, removing the slag from it.

Consumption of foods rich in fiber, in some cases leads to lower cholesterol levels, improve metabolism. Vegetable fibers, contained in cereals and whole grains, can slow down the formation of cholesterol plaques. And a form such as pectin is a good way to prevent atherosclerosis.

Studies conducted by domestic and foreign scientists have shown that with the increase in fiber intake, the risk of certain cancers (for example, colon cancer) and type II diabetes mellitus is reduced. In addition, many foods rich in plant fibers contain a variety of beneficial microelements.

Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that in the daily diet there is a sufficient amount of vegetable dietary fiber? This is, first of all, various vegetables, fruits, nuts, legumes, whole grains. A person should receive at least 25 grams of fiber per day with food. If you still used a little of these foods, increase the dose gradually to prepare the gastrointestinal tract to change the diet. Prepare vegetarian salads, be sure to include in your diet dishes from legumes. Instead of the usual side dishes, eat vegetables better. During the day, try to eat at least one apple, pear or banana. Do not forget that with increasing fiber intake, you need to increase fluid intake.

But this does not mean that all people need to become vegetarians, eating only foods rich in fiber. A piece of good meat, poultry or fish along with the mentioned products will only benefit the person, because for the normal functioning of the body you need protein, and in plant foods it is small, and it is digested much worse than the animal.
