Pregnant women who suffer from cardiac diseases are more likely to give birth to girls than boys. This was reported at the Global Cardiology Congress in Dubai (UAE) by scientists from the Tabriz Institute (Iran).

The study involved 200 pregnant women who were diagnosed with heart disease and were sent to give birth in the center of the heart. The average age of participants is 29 years. 64% of women had heart valve problems, 19% had dilated cardiomyopathy, and 14% had congenital heart defects. Of the 216 children born to children, 75% were girls.

The number of boys born in any human population should be similar to the number of girls, but the ratio of boys and girls in any country may differ due to the practice of sexual selection. In Iran, for every 100 girls there are 105 boys. And in women in the study for every 100 girls there were 32 boys.

The root causes of this difference in the number of children of the female and male, whose mothers had a sick heart during the gestation period, are not completely clear to the scientists. For the sex of the child chromosomes in the semen of the father are responsible, but this work showed that there can be a relationship between the state of health of the mother and the sex of the baby, whom she is able to endure all pregnancy. To learn this definitively it is possible only with the help of more large-scale research, Iranian experts believe.
