According to psychologists, 5 minutes of laughter per day is not enough for good health, writes Rossella Burattino in an article published in the newspaper Corriere della Sera.

"Healthy, encouraging, free laughter has a beneficial effect not only on the soul, but on the whole body." 50 years ago we laughed for 15 minutes a day, now this time has dropped to 5 minutes. "The experts of the Institute of Psychosomatic Medicine Riza have no doubt: the daily dose good mood should be no less than half an hour. The use of? Reduces stress, improves sleep. The heart, liver and lungs work better when we have fun, not to mention the moral state, "- writes the publication.

"In the Sorbonne of Paris, you can attend courses on the importance of laughter as a tool for improving society," Burattino continues. "You can also attend Hasyayoga classes of yoga: this practice combines an unconditioned laugh with deep breathing." "Today, its adherents are millions of people in 75 countries," says Laura Toffolo, founder of the Italian association of "laughter yoga." According to the Parisian anthropologist Laura Mario, such activities can cause joy and ease, which can be felt for several more days.

"Laughter will save our lives," says Claudio Mencacci, Director of the Department of Psychological Sciences Fatebenefratelli in Milan, "which is confirmed by clinical practice: positive people have great opportunities to succeed in their work and in their relationships with others." Laughter stimulates immune defense, releases adrenaline, dopamine. It activates the mechanism of release of endorphin and enkephalin - our natural "drugs".
