Regular sports activities lasting at least 150 minutes a week improve sleep and attention, according to a new study by scientists.

The study, which involved 2,600 men and women aged 18-85 years, showed that moderate physical activity lasting 150 minutes per week improves sleep quality by 65%, reduces the risk of restless leg syndrome during sleep by 68%, increases concentration by 45%.

"We used physical activity guidelines for cardiovascular disease, but it seems that these guidelines can be applied to mental and neurological health," said study author Brad Cardinal.

Recently, there is a lot of scientific evidence that regular physical activity can serve as a non-pharmaceutical alternative to improving sleep.

Many people can not allocate time for sports. They would rather watch TV or meet friends. However, we must remember that physical activity not only improves sleep, but also has a positive effect on the overall health in the long run.
