To date, the main places of disposal of medical waste are urban landfills, roadside ravines and cemeteries. In these places, environmentalists often find disposable syringes, needles and packages from vaccines, representatives of the Ministry of Ecology of Ukraine state.
According to the standards that are in effect in all European countries, medical waste must be collected and disposed of by special licensed organizations. The existence of contractual relations between such organizations and clinics is the norm.
