Scientific experts representing Harvard Medical College (United States) conducted several studies, on the basis of which they concluded: meditation is really useful. It has a beneficial effect on the immune defense of the body, stabilizes blood pressure, improves mental activity. And one more hidden positive property of meditation is the ability to prevent the development of stress, or reduce its severity and minimize the negative effect on the body. In turn, the probability of developing diseases caused by stress is reduced. According to experts, they were faced with the task of determining the meaning of conscious meditation, evaluating the concept of awareness and giving a full description of this process. As a result, scientists were able to identify several components of meditation. It is the control of attention, the awareness of the body, the management of the emotional state and the awareness of oneself. Experts explain: an understanding of the relationship between the components of the process and the relationship with the brain functions will help learn to apply mindfulness in the treatment regimens of patients with a variety of pathologies. Scientists plan to continue their research in order to begin the application of meditation for medical purposes as soon as possible. In turn, Professor Levin - a representative of the Medical College of Baylor - said that meditation has a complex beneficial effect. The professor conducted a study on the effect on the body of various medications, conscious and transcendental meditations, zen and relax meditations. Volunteers who participated in the experiment practiced meditation 1-2 times a day for twenty minutes. As a result, it was found that after such practices, participants significantly decreased stress level, disappeared attacks of anxiety and depression. Many have improved the quality of sleep. If we take into account the fact that frequent stressful situations, excessive anxiety, depression and insomnia can eventually cause diseases of the cardiovascular system, we can conclude: regular meditations can reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, as well as other cardiac pathologies. However, doctors warn: despite the positive effect of meditative practice, do not replace her with medications, if they are prescribed by a doctor. Life in the modern world is often accompanied by negative emotions and experiences: people often feel sad, worried about trifles, they are unhappy with themselves and others. If a modern person experiences joyful feelings, then, as a rule, for a short period of time. Meditation, on the other hand, helps a person not only to relax, but also to restore one's worldview, to improve health and mood. Systematic practices allow to solve a lot of internal conflicts and contradictions, get rid of dissatisfaction and fears. Doctors advise: take time for meditation - perhaps this is exactly what will help you live long and without illnesses.
