Famous for the whole world theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, at his speech at the University of Oxford, predicted to mankind the disappearance from the face of the Earth in a thousand years. On the basis of his conclusions, the scientist urged the scientific community to more actively study the cosmos and the possibilities of traveling through it.

The scientist believes that people can disappear from the planet earth for various reasons - nuclear war, the appearance of a more developed artificial intelligence, genetically modified virus, etc.

Professor Hawking said that the significant achievements made in the knowledge of the laws of the universe in recent years are still incomplete and, perhaps, in the near future there will come a day when people will use gravitational waves to understand how our universe appeared. The scientist also noted that there is still a chance to save people, and for this, scientists need to continue to explore the cosmos and search for planets that would replace the Earth, otherwise people will cease to exist as a species.

In his new book, the scientist also calls upon the younger generation of scientists to more actively explore the cosmos and the possibility of conquering new planets, which will help to find answers to a number of existing questions, for example, whether there are other forms of life in the universe, whether a person can live in space, etc. .

Stephen Hawking suffers from amyotrophic sclerosis, which led to almost complete paralysis. The disease was identified in 1963 and according to the doctors' forecasts, Hawking lived only a few years. But, despite this, Hawking moved to a wheelchair only in the late 60's. In 1985, after severe pneumonia, Hawking was tracheostomy and he lost the ability to speak normally. Thanks to the help of friends, the scientist has the opportunity to continue to communicate with others using a speech synthesizer. Hawking due to the progression of the disease became practically immobilized - at first some mobility was preserved in the index finger of the right hand, and then only in the muscle of the cheeks responsible for the facial expression. Opposite this muscle, a synthesizer sensor is attached through which Hawking controls the computer and can communicate with others.

Hawking in his 74 years not only lectures and makes predictions about the future of the earth, but also actively attracts the public to the study of the universe. 9 years ago he flew a special plane in weightlessness, in a few years there was to be a space flight, which for some reason was canceled. But Hawking continues and is now learning the program for flights to outer space, which was developed specifically for him.

The professor notes that he studied mathematics as a "queen of sciences" only at school and the first year of his teaching in Oxford, he, like his students, studied science, with one exception: he was ahead of them for several weeks.

Now Stephen Hawking takes part in several large projects, the purpose of which is the discovery of an alien life form. The scientist plans to rent several large radio telescopes, hire a team of astronomers and pay them the development of new technology, after that, Hawking intends to listen to what is happening not only in our galaxy, but also in neighboring ones.
