The recent work of genetic scientists from China has shocked almost the entire world medical community. Geneticists from China have announced that they have already begun experimental work in the field of human genotype. The main objective of this work is to change the DNA of the future child, i.e., at the level of embryonic development. The Chinese specialists have called their project "Designer Children". This kind of interference in human nature is equated to cloning, and work in this area is prohibited in almost all countries.
Thanks to the "Designer Children" project, future parents will be able to independently select genes in the DNA chain and create their future child. Such selection of genes will allow to form the child's external data, health, habits, abilities, etc.
Chinese experts note that such an approach to the birth of a future person will prevent the development of various hereditary diseases, since genetic changes will be preserved and passed on to future generations.
The idea that Chinese specialists intend to implement has already been voiced by scientists from other countries, but for ethical reasons it was rejected, and work in this direction was prohibited.
On the other hand, the idea of "shaping" a future human is not so bad. By artificially constructing a DNA chain from certain genes, it will be possible to get rid of hereditary diseases, since the body of a "designer" child will be completely free of predisposition to them, in addition, the offspring of such a child will also not be predisposed to hereditary diseases from which their ancestors suffered.
Despite this, in some countries experiments in this direction were banned, as the world scientific community considered that such interference in human nature could provoke serious ethical problems.
In many countries of the world, such experiments on human embryos are prohibited by law, however, in the United States of America and China, such work is completely legalized.
At the time, such a proposal by scientists had already caused numerous disputes and discussions in scientific circles. The world scientific community had an ambiguous reaction to such news, some specialists supported the idea of creating a person in this way, others were categorically against such experiments on people.
Such statements by scientists that they can make changes to a human embryo are reminiscent of the theory of improving the human race (eugenics), but at the same time, experiments in this area are reminiscent of the experiments that were conducted in Nazi Germany, when German specialists tried to create a "superman". In turn, Chinese geneticists noted that their work cannot be considered as something similar, they emphasized that their research is aimed at finding methods for getting rid of various hereditary diseases that can be treated at the level of embryonic development.
