When going on holiday to the sea – no matter whether it’s a warm southern sea or a cool northern sea – it’s important to know how to use the possibilities and benefits of sea water to the fullest.

We all know that life on our planet originated in water. And in sea water. Natural clean sea water is such an active and sometimes aggressive solution of salts, gases and organic compounds that even a short stay in it has a very strong effect on our body. How can we spend time at sea with benefit?

What are the benefits of sea water?

Anti-stress immobilizing. This is a type of naturopathic treatment for chronic and seasonal depression, based on a simple aqua exercise: lying in sea water without moving in the most relaxed position. A warm sea with very salty water is ideal for this type of therapy, such as the Red or Aegean. You need to go to a comfortable depth in calm weather that does not cause anxiety - for example, waist-deep, lie on your back, relax and close your eyes. Try to distract yourself from everything. The most important thing is to relax the cervical and lumbar spine: they are the ones that close during chronic stress. The best time for this treatment is early evening, about half an hour before sunset. You can try in the morning, but usually the water in the sea in the morning is cooler and uncomfortable.

Venotonic walks in sea water. This is a very pleasant and very useful entertainment: just go into the sea to a depth of mid-calf and walk along the shore - as far and as long as you can! Hydromassage with sea water and gentle load on the leg vessels will help improve the condition of the veins in case of varicose veins (if you already have them) or prevent their development. Such walks are especially useful for fans of high heels and those who, due to their profession, stand on their feet for a long time or sit behind the wheel. By the way, such walks are especially useful in a cool sea with a water temperature of 18 - 20 C.

Hydroabdominotherapy. This fancy term is used by naturopaths to describe a natural sea massage of the abdominal cavity, which is useful for a variety of problems - from lazy bowel syndrome to genitourinary problems associated with congestion. Wait for a light storm (wave height up to 60 cm), then climb into an inflatable ring of a suitable size, enter the water up to about your chest and simply relax your lower body so that the sea waves roll freely over it. It is impossible to come up with a safer and at the same time more effective massage of the abdominal organs! The main thing is that the water should be quite warm.
