Frequent tantrums and outbursts of anger in young children can be the first signals about health problems. But how to understand that these are ordinary childish whims or signs of a serious problem?
Usually children's tantrums are accompanied by a strong emotional outburst, fits of rage, backed by anger, aggression and anger.
The new results of the research of specialists from the North-West Medical Center made it possible to develop a method for recognizing the nature of children's hysteria.
To understand the state of the child, scientists prepared a special questionnaire, by which one can distinguish the manifestation of willful behavior typical of young children, and identify signs of violations that pose a risk to the health of the child. This will help parents and specialists correctly identify the problem and choose the correct ways to eliminate it.
Despite the fact that capricious behavior of young children is a frequent phenomenon, experts found that a constant manifestation of aggression is observed in less than 10% of children every day. This model of child behavior is characteristic of all nationalities and social strata of society.
"Perhaps the results of these studies will provide an opportunity for a deeper understanding of the nature and nature of the behavior of young children," says Lauren Vauxchlag, a professor at the Northwestern University of the United States, Feinberg.
Recently, experts used the model of aggressive behavior of adolescents to identify the causes of inadequate behavior of preschool children, but later it became clear that this method is not suitable for young children, because the nature of the manifestation of aggression they have significant differences.
In the course of research, carried out with the financial support of the National Institute of Mental Health, scientists conducted a survey of 1500 families, where there are small children from three to five years old. Questions were drawn up in such a way as to reveal the frequency, nature and duration of children's hysteria over the past month.
The results obtained allowed specialists to concentrate on the manifestations of atypical behavior of children. Experts found that outbreaks of aggression can occur suddenly and without reason. In some children, this is observed from time to time, and in some, such hysterics is a regular phenomenon.
The ability to quickly identify a problem will allow specialists to intervene and eradicate it at an early stage of development before it becomes worse and becomes irreversible. Aggression and anger can be caused by increased excitability of the baby's nervous system, neurological disorders, poor health, fatigue and a number of other reasons.
For parents, this should be the first bell, testifying to the health problems of the child. Do not rush and take educational measures, because in this way the child can give signals about serious health problems. Ignore these hysterical fits can not be, otherwise the nervous system of the child will suffer, which can lead to psychogenic changes.
