Doctors have discovered an important factor that will force many men to spend less time in front of a television screen.

Physicians found that a long stay at the TV has a negative impact on the male ability to have children, because it significantly impairs the quality of sperm.

Such pessimistic news for many representatives of the male was published by medical specialists of the Danish University of Copenhagen in the edition of Fox News.

The doctors tested the sperm samples of those men who spent five or more hours before the blue screen every day. It was found that among these TV lovers, the total number of spermatozoa was 34% less than those of men who rarely watched television programs, or were generally indifferent to TV.

"This difference in the indicators is really significant - and especially if it's about the ability of men to continue their kind," - the organizers of the study are sure.

A logical question arises: Does the computer screen affect the male reproductive function in the same way as the TV screen?

An interesting fact, but staying at the computer for five or more hours daily does not significantly affect the qualitative characteristics of sperm. And, regardless of what the man at the computer is busy with: he works, communicates in social networks or plays network games. The reasons for this fact are unknown: the scientists spread their hands.

"Perhaps staying in front of a television screen is a more passive pastime than doing computer games. Probably, the interaction with the computer is more structured: a man can make an active break in work or play, unlike watching movies or programs, distract during which it does not work, "- says one of the authors of the experiment, Lerke Prixon.

Another theoretical reason, scientists have found that while on a soft and warm sofa surface, a man can raise the temperature in the inguinal region. This can directly affect the production and quality of the sperm liquid. The work chair or gamer chair does not have such hyperthermic action.

Doctors pay attention to the fact that a lack of motor activity can damage male fertility in almost 100% of cases. Musculature activity, albeit periodic, allows active production of antioxidant enzymes, which create protection for spermatozoa from destruction due to oxidation processes.

The last argument from the experts was that "felting" on the couch leads to the appearance of excess weight. It's no secret that lovers of lying in front of the TV are inclined to excessive use of various drinks (beer, soda), to overeating (chips, popcorn). Such negative habits can not pass unnoticed to health. Therefore, all men, and especially - potential future dads - it is recommended to draw the right conclusions.
