Experts from Scotland have proven that daily consumption of a small amount of red wine has a positive effect on the human body. The results of studies conducted to study the characteristics of the female body during menopause have shown that alcohol has a positive effect on the general condition, the functioning of the nervous system and the functioning of the musculoskeletal system.

Scientists claim that moderate amounts of alcohol (for example, dry red wine) can have a beneficial effect on bone tissue and prevent osteoporosis. During menopause, some hormonal changes occur in the female body that can negatively affect bone tissue and, accordingly, cause dangerous bone diseases associated with changes in tissue composition.

Osteoporosis is most often a chronic dangerous skeletal disease associated with changes in bone density and increased fragility. The disease is associated with changes in bone metabolism and a violation of its original composition. Osteoporosis is considered both a metabolic and an exchange disease and is a disease of the musculoskeletal system. For a long time, a person may not suspect the disease: the first fractures that can occur as a result of the disease are often considered by patients to be an accident, and pain that lasts for several weeks is a pattern associated with age or fatigue.

Doctors distinguish two types of the disease: primary - associated with natural processes in the human body and secondary - acquired as a result of other diseases. A recent study has proven that daily consumption of just one glass of dry red wine can protect a woman's body from osteoporosis. A small amount of natural alcoholic beverage has a positive effect on the metabolism of bone tissue and ensures its proper density.

During the study, Scottish specialists examined more than 900 women who were at the age of menopause. For seven years, doctors monitored the general health of the women, paying special attention to diseases of the musculoskeletal system and bones in particular.

The study leader noted that women whose diet included moderate amounts of alcohol, as well as food rich in calcium, phosphorus, vitamin D (dairy products, fresh fish, vegetables and fiber) suffered much less from age-related diseases of the musculoskeletal system. A properly balanced diet was able to protect women from accidental fractures and chronic skeletal diseases.

If the effect of calcium on the condition of bone tissue is clear to everyone, then scientists have several theories about the effect of alcohol. According to one of them, alcoholic drinks have the property of increasing the level of the hormone estrogen in the body. During menopause, the level of estragon in the female body drops significantly, so this fact may be the reason for the positive effect of wine on metabolism.
