Hard cheese is loved by many. And now scientists have proved that such cheese is not only delicious, but also very useful.

Chinese experts found that daily eating only 40 grams of hard cheese significantly increases the chances of avoiding diseases such as ischemic heart disease, heart attack and stroke.

To such results of scientists led a careful study of fifteen observational experiments, during which the interrelation of the features of nutrition and development of cardiovascular pathologies was considered.

Hard cheeses are one of the most popular food products in the world. According to data for 2015, the total turnover of cheese products in the world market was almost 81 billion dollars, with daily consumption of cheese per person - from 2 kg (Japanese) to 28 kg (French). In our country, the amount of cheese consumed per year is determined from 4 to 6 kg per person.

Of course, it has long been known that cheese contains many useful substances - calcium, vitamins, zinc. However, the benefits of this product for the cardiovascular system has been questioned, since there are many animal fats in the cheese.

But now the scientists managed to prove: cheese for the heart and blood vessels is still useful.

Throughout the study, scientists were able to compare a huge amount of information. In total, the experiment involved data from two hundred thousand people from different parts of the world. The duration of the project was 10 years.

Experts have found that the systematic presence in the diet of cheeses reduces the risk of heart and vascular disease by 18%. Coronary heart disease occurs 14% less often in people who love cheese (and stroke, respectively, by 10%). During the experiment participants did not suffer from any cardiac and vascular pathologies and did not adhere to special nutrition principles.

The authors of the work point out: for a sustained preventive action it is necessary to consume about 40 g of cheese daily.

In this case, the researchers themselves and other independent experts admit that this variant of the experiment can produce both random and erroneous results. Therefore, in order to state with certainty the benefits of cheese in the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, specific tests are required, with the organization of a control group and constant careful monitoring.

Earlier similar studies were conducted, and they also confirmed that cheese is useful for blood vessels. True, one fact is alarming: in one case, in both cases, the sponsors of research projects were, in addition to the Institute for the Study of Milk Products, individual macro-corporations for the production of dairy products. So what are the results that are presented: is this true or another advertisement? Consumers can only hope that subsequent research will be more accurate and confirm the opinion of scientists that hard cheese is useful for the cardiovascular system.

More details about the study can be found in the European Journal of Nutrition.
