Researchers from Australia debunked the myth that lefties are more creative natures than right-handers. Moreover, those who are naturally inclined to use the left hand as a working one, noted a decline in cognitive functions.

As Professor Mike Nichols of the University of Flinders explained, it is not right to believe that the lefty or right-handed person becomes a result of a failure at the genetic level. "This is not a defect," said Professor Nichols, "because the physical abilities of left-handed and right-handed people are absolutely the same." "At the same time, there is a myth that left-handed people are naturally genius and talented," said the psychologist, "However, such conclusions are only speculations and do not have scientific confirmation."

Based on the analysis of a representative sample of 5,000 Australian children of five years of age, 10% of whom turned out to be left-handed, experts concluded that their academic performance and their ability to work in the team leave much to be desired. "Unfortunately, we are not yet ready to answer the question of what the results are related to," added professor of psychology M. Nichols, "But we dare say that if a person was born left-handed, it is absolutely not necessary that he will be an outstanding artist or musician."

Recall, according to statistics, every seventh person on the planet is left-handed.
