Medicines containing placenta extract, as it turned out, are not so harmless to human health. Previously, it was believed that such products improve the production of breast milk and reduce the risk of developing postpartum depression. However, recent studies by specialists have shown that placenta-based drugs not only do not bring any benefit to the body, but also significantly harm it.
The placenta is designed to protect the baby in the womb from various infections; it is a kind of biological filter.
The benefits of the placenta were written about a thousand years ago by the outstanding Central Asian physician, philosopher, and scientist Abu Ali Hussein Ibn Abdullah Ibn Sin, better known as Avicenna. Eastern healers used placenta powder hundreds of years ago to treat various diseases. Modern scientists have also recognized the benefits of placental preparations, which, according to them, have anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, immunostimulating, rejuvenating, resolving and other properties.
Today, when producing placenta-based products (cosmetic or medicinal), the embryonic organ is processed, sterilized, and the compounds it contains (polysaccharides, proteins, nucleic acids, etc.) are completely destroyed.
Manufacturers use the placenta of newborns, from which they extract the extract.
Cosmetic manufacturers are left with only 20% of the extract, the rest goes to scientific needs. Today, a large number of different preparations are produced, based on placentas, and over the past few years, cosmetic preparations with such an additive have become very popular.
A team of specialists at one of the research universities decided to conduct several experiments to determine exactly how placental preparations are beneficial and the possible harm to health that they can cause.
After conducting a series of experiments, experts came to the conclusion that placenta extract in various preparations not only does not bring any benefit, but, moreover, can threaten human health. In total, specialists conducted 10 experimental studies, after which they could confidently talk about the negative aspects of the placental "additive".
During the work, scientists found that by the time the child is born, the placenta is completely worn out and does not represent anything that can be beneficial to human health. But in addition, during pregnancy, the placenta absorbs mineral salts, mercury, various toxins, lead, which are dangerous to humans. The team of researchers also noted that it is impossible to "pull out" harmful substances from the embryonic organ, and they end up in the drugs that it is based on, and then penetrate the human body. It is worth noting that this study was the first in this area; until now, specialists had not studied the properties of the placenta and its benefits or harm to human health.
