Socialization of a dog is a major multi-stage process during which the animal's personality is formed and its connection with the animal world is formed. It is important not only for puppies, but should not be forgotten throughout your dog's life.
- A dog needs to be socialized as a puppy.
But even if your pet has already grown up, it's not a problem, you need to be patient. But you need to start training as early as possible, without delay.
- Getting to know the outside world
It is best to go out with the puppy early in the morning, while people are not rushing to work and no one is running anywhere, confusing the baby. After looking around a little, the puppy will feel more confident and the walk can be continued.
- Communication with other animals
Until the puppy has had all its vaccinations, it remains susceptible to diseases, so don't rush off to the nearest park with it. Experts recommend starting socialization in special classes where owners present vaccination certificates for the animal.
- The right attitude
If you want to develop social instincts in your dog, it is very important to properly suppress unwanted behavior - jumping on the owner, biting hands or clothes. If the dog only hears "no, you can't, ugh..." and gets spanked, then there can be no talk of affection for the owner. Think about what would happen to children if their behavior was suppressed in this way.
- Don't be persistent
It is very important not to force a dog to do something when it is not ready for something. If the animal does not want to play or just wants to hang around another dog, then this is normal. But if the puppy constantly hides behind your legs during a walk, while another dog jumps on him, not respecting his space, then this can lead to the emergence of fear of all dogs.
- Praise
Encourage and praise your pet when it meets other dogs calmly. Praise the dog, pet it, or give it a treat. Over time, this behavior will become a habit for the dog.
- More positivity
Don't let your own worries and bad mood affect the animal. Instead, relax and have fun together.
