The authorities of the city of Lahore in the east of Pakistan have transferred all medical institutions to a strengthened regime due to the threat of an epidemic of Dengue fever, the BBC reported.
Recall that this year in Pakistan was recorded about 2.5 thousand cases of infection with the virus, most of them - in Lahore, the center of the Punjab province.
On Friday, Shahbaz Sharif, the chief minister of the province, ordered the immediate purchase of special pesticides in India to stop the spread of the virus.
Help: Dengue fever is a dangerous tropical disease, the causative agent of which is carried by mosquitoes. Acute viral infection is characterized by fever, headache, joint and muscle pain, nausea and rash. Most cases of Dengue fever occur relatively easily, but in 5% of cases, the disease leads to death.
Dengue fever usually lasts about 10 days, but a full recovery may last up to a month. There is no vaccine for this disease.
