30-40% of men's appeals to andrologists are associated with inflammatory diseases of the genital area (most often prostatitis ), 30-40% - with erectile dysfunction, 5-10% - with infertility.
This was told by the chief expert on sexopathology of the Health Department of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, an employee of the Kiev Regional Clinical Hospital Igor Sudarikov.
"Inflammation can be caused by specific sexually transmitted pathogens or as a result of hypothermia ... Predicting factors for the development of the disease are usually a sedentary lifestyle, irregular sex, irrational antibiotic treatment, weakening of the immune system due to severe co-morbidities (tonsillitis, influenza, etc .). Often the prostatitis becomes chronic because of untimely diagnosis, "- said Sudarikov.
According to the expert, the main causes of male infertility are the violation of the hormonal background, inflammation in the sex glands, gonorrhea, widening of the veins of the spermatic cord, past traumas and infectious parotitis (mumps). "Male infertility is growing at a crazy pace in Ukraine and across the planet." According to WHO statistics, the proportion of male infertility equaled that of women, "the expert said.
Recently, the sexopathologist says, cases of iatrogenic infertility caused by improper therapeutic treatment have become more frequent: "Most often this is due to the treatment of sexually transmitted infections, with the help of hard antibiotics, without examining the reproductive function of a man."
The main reason for the majority of sexual ailments is the physician considers the men's wrong attitude toward their health, as well as the lack of a sufficient number of specialists in the field of andrology. "The care for men's health should begin before the boy's birth, the entire period of his maturation, active adulthood and the onset of the" men's menopause. "The terrible dynamics of male infertility is caused by historical disdain for male health, when many years in a row against a well- consultations for the whole country there were a dozen doctors andrologists ... Specialty andrologue is still not included in the list of medical specialties ... "- sums up Sudarikov.
