In the medical college. Einstein team of scientists came to the conclusion that a man by nature can not live forever - the limit of life still exists.
Experts have studied the average life expectancy of people since the XIX century, and found that the development of health, improving nutrition, quality of life, etc. Contributed to the prolongation of life. According to scientists, in 1900 Americans lived about 47 years, whereas those born this year can live up to 80 years.
Also over the past 40 years, the life span has continued to grow, but experts believe that the human body is designed for a certain number of years. According to demographers and biologists, the life expectancy of a person can increase in the future, but according to experts from Einstein's College, the limit was reached back in the 90's.
Similar conclusions were made by scientists after they studied data from the database of human death, which contains data from different countries (the database contains data from more than 40 countries).
Since 1900, older people have died less and every year more and more people have lived to 70 years and older, which indicates an increase in the average life expectancy. Also, experts studied the survival rate among long-livers (over 100 years old) and found that regardless of the year of birth, after 100 years of mortality increases dramatically. During the work, scientists drew attention to one interesting fact: in the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Japan, where the maximum number of centenarians lived (over 110 years), life expectancy increased in the 70-90s, but since 1995 the increase in the age of elderly people ceased, and this indicates that human life has its limits.
Having studied the data of the International Base, the team of researchers calculated that the average human body is 115 years old, although scientists do not rule out that a person can live longer. In their opinion, the maximum human body can withstand 125 years, but the probability of this is less than 1 to 10 thousand.
Over the past decades, the level of medical care has significantly increased, scientists have found new effective ways to combat infectious and chronic diseases. All this undoubtedly contributed to an increase in the average life expectancy. According to the researchers who conducted the analysis, new discoveries can contribute to an increase in human life and cause the body to overcome the calculated threshold, but in order for this to happen, scientists will need to do something really significant. Researchers suggest that the life expectancy of a person is determined by certain genes and now various studies are aimed at determining the way to increase life expectancy. However, according to the head of the new study, Jan Vij, too much resources are spent on people searching for a way to prolong their lives, while all efforts should be directed at improving the quality of life and health in old age in order to make the life of older people as full as possible.
